Frank Pinto was born in Gorran Haven in 1945 at a time when the inland boundary of the village, except for a few properties, was The Triangle. He looks back at his childhood in the locality and tells a fascinating story of what life was like in the 1950s and provides an intriguing record of what the village was like then. He unlocks, for both local and visitor, the world of life in a rural coastal village in a time most of us only associate with Cliff, Elvis and rock’n’roll. Frank introduces us to rabbiting, fishing, farming, the village’s little shops and lost pathways, the washed up whale, as well as some of the village’s characters and those Cornish phrases you don’t hear quite so often these days.
